"The impossible dream"

To dream, the impossible dream
To fight, the unbeatable foe
To bear, the unbearable sorrow
To run, where the brave dare not go
To right, the unrightable wrong
To love, pure and chase from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star,
This s my quest, to follow that star
no matter how hopeless,
no matter how far,
To fight, for the right
without question or pause
to be willing to march into hell
for a heavenly cause,
And I know if I'll only be true,
to this glorious quest,
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm,
when I am laid to my rest.,
and the world would be better for this,
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
still strong with his last ounce of courage,
To reach the unreachable star!
by Joe Darion
This song says it all,
we must dream, impossible dreams, for this is how the world has survived, because of the dreams of many and the help of God.
by fighting we have accomplish our dreams, fighting for truth and justice and freedom for all.
by bearing each others sorrows, we have been united as one.
by running the race to the end, to win a place in the kingdom of God,
by righting what is wrong, to help the poor, homeless, orphans and those who cannot help themselves,
by loving all God's children,
by trying no matter how difficult, or weak because God is the strength within,
help until you cannot help any more.
Fight until you cannot fight anymore.
and always love til the end, with all your heart.

The power within you, A gift from God

This power that is a spiritual gift given to you by God is the gift of hope. Much can be said about hope. Much more has been written about hope but the greatest is that much has been accomplish through hope.

Hope has given life, to those who had nothing else but trust that there would be a chance of something better. Hope has given food to the hungry spirit causing them to hang in there thus bringing survival by them never giving up.

If fear has attacked you, call on hope to rescue you. The fears of the past will be conquered by the hope of the present and producing a better and hopeful future. Live for today with hope for the future. The future hope will become the past hopes the past hopes will enrich the present making all the tomorrows hopeful. Then you will not let your past destroy your future but enhance it.

Hope can change your life, do not stand still for hope lives on and on.Take it upon yourself that life can change if you choose to do it. When life seems hopeless, it becomes dark and void, unlock the power within you and go forth living in the light of hope.

Can you change who you are, yes you can! You have many elements that can help you. Some are faith, strength to do better, others, love, your power to survive, hope,

Give hope to others,
be hope,
spread hope for hope:

Hope sees the invisible,
feels the intangible,
achieves the impossible. Anonymous.

"You are the light of the world"

If only each one would light one candle.
Imagine how much brighter the world would be'.
Then maybe we would see things
more clearly.

There are many flowers in the Garden of Life

You are one of those flowers
no matter how strange no matter how tall short or different you are,
you are a flower in this garden,
You will grow you will either be liked or disliked by others,
but since we have one creator who created all of us,
you as well as all the flowers are loved by Him.
You have a special reason for being in this Garden called the world.
Live life caring and sharing with others
the gifts that your creator has bestow upon you.
If you fail, do not worry, get up and try again.
God will give you the strength, just ask.
The world is not complete without one of the flowers.
Neither is the world complete without you.
You are the world.
Do what needs to be done to make the world
a Garden with all and for all.

There is good in all

"You are the Light of the world
shine your light
so the world may see the good
that you do
and give glory to God."

"When you serve others, you are serving God"

On Friday January 8th, I was privilege to be invited to be a guest speaker for the Rotary Club of Madison West Towne- Middleton, Wisconsin.

My presentation was pertaining to my latest publication, of my book titled, “The Garden of Life is the Garden of the World”. At first I had a notion that I was to speak about my book be the center of attention, and that there was nothing more significant than to focus on my book. They definitely offer me more than I offered them.

To my amazement I was profoundly impressed with my prestigious audience, an active group of man and woman that share their gifts and talents in a personal and effective way for the enhancement of the world.

Giving of themselves they make a difference by what they accomplish in union with one another transforming the world wherever needed, in such a significant way. What overwhelmed me was their dedication and selfless acts that these prominent people perform. They have captured my attention in such a memorable manner by bringing hope to me as they bring to those they ministered too throughout the world.

Their hard work materializes with devotion throughout the United States extending too far away countries such as Taiwan, Guatemala, China, Russia and many other parts of the world. They unite the world as one in a rotating motion thus bringing equality and quality of life, while spreading goodwill to all they come in contact with.

They actually do in practice what I advocate in my writings in “The Garden of Life is the Garden of the World”, from establishing, funding, operating an orphanage, to educating, sponsoring and encouraging young people that they are part of the world while preparing them for they will be the future of this world.

Later I read that the motto of this organization is “service above all”.

“When you serve others, you are serving God”

The first Rotary was founded over one-hundred years ago open to all who are of good personal character, good reputation. They must be fair and truth filled, build good-will, while beneficial to all concerned.

The four responsibilities of a Rotarian are as follow:

1. Service projects that help serve the local community
2. Service projects that serve the global community
3. Support the rotary foundation financially
4. Member participation

Society changes so do the service projects of the Rotary Foundation. Their accomplishments are numerous, needless to say to reveal all of them we must write more than a few books. There is a great deal more that can be said about this foundation but no one said it better than, Robert Francis Kennedy, brother of the President of the United States of America, John F. Kennedy.

“Let no one be discouraged by the belief that there’s nothing one man or one woman can do against the enormous arrays of the worlds ills-against misery, ignorance, injustice or violence…..few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation.

It is from the numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man or woman stands up for an idea or acts to improve the lot of others…or strikes out against injustice, he or she sends a ripple of hope and build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls…..”

‘”This foundation continues to be strong and has become a vital ministry in the “The Garden of the World” providing assistance to many in fields of education, medical alleviating poverty, supplying the homeless, and orphans with unsurpassed care, love and devotion.”

Bernadette Pabon

I did finish my presentation that day and sold a few books but definitely left with a greater awareness in world ministry in diverse areas. An essential group of unquestionable people who channel their energy into life creating extraordinary results.

" A building does not a church make "

We all know what a building that houses a church looks like. I want to tell you of a few churches I have come across in my life time.

Let us remember that church, is an action word,
and many times we turn it into a noun.
How about the very first church, that is so significant this time of the year? the church that took place so long ago in Bethlehem. We still commemorate this day in our present time, because it was the begining of Christianity. This is the day when our redeemer came into the world to live among us and form a church. This small church was the true presence of God, Jesus himself. This church building was a humble edifice, where animals were kept, a small stable.
  • Those present to worship then were the poor and the rich alike and of course a multitude of angels from above to pay homage and adore Jesus. The spirit of wonder and awe, the spirit of love the spirit of peace and the spirit of God's presence that we all search for, were found there in this humble shelter.
  • In this desolate and cold stable, praise, adoration, prayer, and song were heard.Church was seen when Mother Teresa of Calcutta, found Jesus in the poor, leper and orphans and took care of them when no one else would. When we care for one of the least, we are truly church.
  • I saw church when a small child of six brought food to the homeless in the west side of Chicago. The little boy blessed them and they prayed and brought them crosses to remind them that Jesus loved them. As this child gave them blankets to keep them warm, it brought tears to my eyes. These were blankets that he had when he was a small baby. To see them receive these simple gifts with so much gratitude, touched my heart.
  • In these building, we must gather together and discover ourselves and learn to be church to one another. To become church we must put our needs aside and become one with each other and fulfill the Christ mission.
  • If we read the Acts of the Apostles, we realize that church was servicing those in need and providing spiritual growth for those gathering together so that they could find Jesus in one another and bring that Jesus to others. We must become more like Jesus.
  • Some of us are always searching for the perfect church, the perfect pastor the perfect community. Let me tell you a secret, the only perfect church is Christ. Since we are the church, and we are not perfect, we are only human, the church is as good as its members.
What makes a church? You and I in union with God. We all say the church should be doing this or that, so lets get up and do it. We are the church.

Ask yourself this question, What is lacking in your church? Then look within yourself and see, that what is lacking in the church is lacking within you. You are church.

Church isn't where you meet.
Church isn't a building.
Church is what you do.
Church is who you are.
Church is the human outworking of the person of Jesus Christ.
Lets not go to Church.
Lets be church.
Bridget Willard
